Our mission is to restore and preserve The Roberson Mill, a Ca. 1880’s water powered Grist Mill. The facility will be an operational Gristmill and museum of living history and an educational facility accessible to the public for tours with demonstrations and hands-on displays.
Built in the 1880’s by John W. Epperly, noted as “one of Floyd County’s most accomplished millwrights”, Roberson Mill is said to be one of the most distinctive among mills in design and machine layout. It demonstrates some of the finest craftsmanship in wood and metal components and represents an authentic picture of flour milling as it was done in the United States through most of the 19th century.
Restoring the Mill, is a multi-step process that takes time. Each phase will have a specific goal to be completed before we’ll be moving on to the next phase. All of your donations will be used for the Mill restorations, once the restorations are complete donations will be used for up-keeps and events hosted at the mill.
